I need a good night's sleep, adequate fuel before, during and after the run (I've found an amazing trail mix from Costco that is my new go to!) and honestly the most important thing for me is giving myself grace. If training isn't going according to plan (whether by pace, or by distance, or by number of runs in a week), I try to remind myself that I'm doing the best I can.
